Audio jack not working anymore?

So recently, my audio jack has stopped working, but not completely. There are still some times that it'll work a little if i jiggle it around a bit and hold it in whatever odd position it decides to work in, but then after a few seconds it goes back to just not working and the sound plays over my laptop's speakers again. Overall, though, this is just a huge issue because for me, literally everything i do on my laptop relies on sound-and i prefer surround sound over some crappy speakers any day.

I've already tried another pair of earbuds (and then tried both of those on my phone, and they worked there), tried restarting my laptop (multiple times), and i even just redownloaded the audio system off the manufacurer's site. Literally nothing has been working but sheer dumb luck every once in a while, but then i make one wrong move and everything goes downhill again. Like legit what gives?

My laptop is a lenovo. I have no idea of the make or model since it was a gift for my birthday a year ago. Is it just getting old? Do i have to go take it to a shop to get it professionally fixed or get any parts replaced?
