Looking to Buy a Laptop… Suggestions?

So, I am looking to buy a laptop sometime over the summer, and I have searched, but I m just not sure what exactly I m looking for. My price range is around $400 - $999. This is just a preference - I am willing to go over this for a good deal. I will mostly use it for gaming, and if it is possible, I would like Windows 8 rather than 10. No Apple - I am committed to Windows. I m looking for something that can handle a good deal of games (especially Steam ones.)
