How to keep my computer screen from turning off until I hard-restart my computer?

I have a Lenovo Edge 2 and my only issue is when I leave it for a while it goes to sleep. The display refuses to turn on so I am forced to restart the computer. I have gone into the display/power options and tried turning everything to either never or high performance so that it would keep the screen from turning off.
Any additional ideas?
