What's a good, cheap laptop with a dvd player $300 or less?

I need a computer for college and to hold my artwork and programs on (sai, toon boom, gimp,etc). I want something with a dvd player, that's the only thing stopping me from getting chrome books. They have no players or buttons on the touch pad.
