How to lock the Fn key when using Ctrl on Lenovo E50?

Hi all,

My Lenovo E50 laptop has certain multimedia keys in place of the traditional the F keys (which can subsequently be used together with the Fn key). When I hold down Alt the multimedia keys are ignored and the F keys are used instead. For example when I want to close a window I press Alt+F4 instead of Alt+Fn+F4. How can I get the Ctrl key to behave in a similar way so that I don't have to keep holding down Fn anymore? In other words instead of having to press Ctrl+Fn+F11, I should be able to press Ctrl+F11.

Is there a way to do this without completely disabling the Fn key or swapping keys?
