Why does my wireless keep cutting out on my PC?

I have a Windows 8 Lenovo PC and for whatever reason my wireless stops working for a period of time every now and then. I have a centurylink modem and I m connected wirelessly. Every so often no matter what I m doing it will randomly stop working, and won t work for up to 5 minutes if I do nothing, during this period, I can use the wifi on any other device perfectly, and if I disconnect and reconnect on my computer it works perfectly until it stops working again. NOTE: it does not show a yellow caution symbol to show the connection is limited when it cuts out nor does it ever completely disconnect on its own. NOTE 2: I have portforwarded some ports and do have a static IP address.
