Is the CMOS battery required for something else than the clock on my laptop?

so looks like my cmos battery on my laptop doesnt work and i need to replace it, but it looks like only my clock is affected by that.Im not in a hurry so is the cmos battery important for something else? Its 1 month like this and i havent noticed anything else. My laptop is Lenovo y50. Thank you.
