Why cant i see ppl on omegle?

i can see myself but the strangers cant see me and i cant see them:( my friend can see almost every stranger that she talks too on her laptop and it annoys me so much! Chatroulette works fine for me but i like omegle more. I use google chrome ( i have also tried safari and firefox) on macbook air and she uses internet explorer on her lenovo windows 8 laptop
