I can t find my wireless network icon and can t activate windows 8 on my new Lenovo laptop?

I just bought a Lenovo z7050 laptop and I set up windows 8 on it. Now when I opened the settings it told me that I have to activate the windows. I tried to activate it over wireless network but I didn t find the wireless icon only the cable network. Can anyone help me with finding the wireless icon. I didn t even find it on the control panel. And also how to activate windows 8.
