What s a Good School/Gaming Computer Hybrid?

So I need to get a new computer for school, but I also want one that can handle an ok amount of gaming. I won t be playing anything extremely graphics heavy (MAYBE Day-Z at the most) but I want it to be able to handle anything less than that. So in general I m looking for something with an Intel i7 and preferably 16gb of RAM and around $1000. Suggestions? I saw the Lenovo Y50 but i read something about a faulty graphics cars…
