Lenovo laptop charger not working? Fixes?

my lenovo laptop charger isn't working. I've unplugged it and plugged it back it, upside down and all that junk. The only way it works is if the laptop is closed and leaning against a wall so that the charging area is on the ground, if that makes sense.

is there any way I can fix this?
