What's a good new laptop?

I've only owned 11.6 inch laptops and am looking into buying a new one. I would prefer an i5 processor and SSD, not just HDD. I found the Lenovo Yoga 2 to be the perfect laptop but then found out that it does not have backlit keys which is very important. I will never buy a Mac, and will consider going up to a 13 inch if it's perfect otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Added (1). It's not for gaming. Just school and work.
