Every time my Lenovo laptop has an update, it messes everything up?

It is Windows 8 and when it updates, I try playing League of Legends after and it always boots me out and says Direct X SDK error. When this happens I have to fully restore my laptop, and I dont want to anymore. I've did it like 5 times in the past two months. If anybody can please help me with this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
