Lenovo X220 battery life too short. How long should it last?

I got a Grade A refurb from IBM and was told it should pretty much be as brand new but the battery only last about an hour when not even being used. Surely this isn't right? How long should it last and should I be entitled to a replacement battery if it is too short?
