What PC (laptop) should I get?

Hello, I currently have a 2011 Macbook pro which I've had since 2013. I'm now in college and I want to upgrade to a PC. Any recommendations? I have a budget of >$900 but I guess I could spend a little more if it's worth it.

I will use it for school and for programming (I'm a CS student).

Something not too bulky would be great! I do care about the aesthetics a bit lol.
