Lenovo G560 display error. Colored horizontal bands/lines?

Had issues with battery before but was fixed. EVerything works normal since, except sometimes in the middle of some work the display suddenly turns into some multicolored horizontal lines/bands. If left as it is the screen goes blank after a while, but works like normal once restarted after having removed and reconnected the battery again. Not sure if its a problem with the gfx card or the motherboard or the battery. Tried uodating the drivrs to giving it to professionals but in vein. I have uploaded a pic of the problem here. Please help.
